Thin layer chromatography silica gel is white power, divided into ordinary (SG12-1) and efficient (SG12-2)
kinds.The main component is SiO2.nH2O that is insoluble in water, inorganic acid and other organic solvents,
and soluble in HF and concentrated caustic solution, with moisture absorption in the air. Due to different
adsorption retention time for different substances, it makes various substances obtain the goal of separation
and purification. It includes H type, HF254 type, G type and GF254 type, among which, H type doesn't
contain gypsum or organic adhesive; HF254 type contains inorganic phosphor powder, revealing yellowish-
green fluorescence light at ultraviolet wavelength of 254nm; G type contains around 13% of gypsum as adhesive,
slightly acidic; GF254 type contains hemihydrates gypsum and inorganic phosphor powder, showing
yellowish-green fluorescence light at ultraviolet wavelength of 254nm.
The product can be directly used in qualitative or quantitative analysis on all kinds of organic substances; it
has also been generally applied to evaluation on trace impurities and major components of medicine,
pesticide, herbal medicine, organic chemical products, grain, and food. Moreover, effective thin layer
chromatography silica gel is characterized by unified and fine particles; compared with ordinary one, it has
better separating effect on substances.
